Los Angeles, Feb 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) New Yankees star Mariano Rivera has revealed that next season could be his last in the baseball league. The 42-year-old has however refused to reveal future plans instead stating that he will make the announcement after the season.

Rivera said he has reached the decision on his future and is certain that is what he will do but will not make it known until October when the season ends.

Speaking about his future in the Major League, Rivera said that, “I know, I’ll tell you when I’m ready… My kids want me home. They were ready for me to stay home. I had to tell them, I have a job to do. I have obligations.”

Speaking about his time off the pitch, Rivera revealed that there are several activities that he will be involved in. He said that, “I have my church, my family. I’ve been blessed in amazing ways. I’ve have a great career, but at the same time, there’s other things to do.”

Rivera is the career saves leader having made about 603 saves. He underwent surgery last December to have polyps removed from his vocal cords. He was unable to talk some time after the procedure but he has recovered and says he is grateful that he decided to get treatment.
