Marian Hossa Wins The Stanley Cup, At Third Try

Winning the Stanley Cup came as a great boon for Marion Hossa.
Not just because it is a great honor. Also because he had been this close to winning the trophy before, and was thwarted. However, this time, he got lucky, and at the third time.
On the other hand, he could not be quite sure of whether he had actually managed to win the Stanley Cup or not.
However, after being handed over the trophy, he also went on to say that despite the fact that he had been thwarted twice in the pursuit of he trophy, he had never really lost faith in it, and that somewhere deep down, he had always been certain that he would be holding the trophy in his hands at some point of time or the other even in the face of the major disappointments.
In fact, when he was declared to be the winner of the Stanley Cup, Marian Hossa did not quite believe it at first.
His first reaction was to make sure that he would not be thwarted right from the threshold once more, and he turned to check with an official whether it really was a game winning goal that he had scored.
When it was conformed, Marian Hossa just ran the length of the ice. Later on, after receiving the trophy, he just showed his elation by simply saying, “I did it.” Of course he did not have to say anything else, for all the frustration that he had suffered in the last two times against the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings seemed to bush off him even as he held the trophy in his hands and lifted it high up.
