Maresca to leave Sevilla for Olympiakos
July 12th, 2009 - 6:15 pm ICT by IANS
- Madrid, July 12 (DPA) Spanish giants Sevilla announced late Saturday that Italian midfielder Enzo Maresca had been sold to Greek champions Olympiakos, for an undisclosed fee.
Maresca, 29, joined Sevilla from Fiorentina in 2005 and helped the southerners to win two UEFA Cups and one Spanish King’s Cup.
However, he did not see eye-to-eye with Manolo Jimenez, who took over as coach from Juande Ramos in 2007, and last season spent more time on the subs’ bench than on the field.
