Mano Menezes wants Neymar playing in Europe
March 12th, 2012 - 2:47 pm ICT by IANSRio de Janeiro, March 12 (IANS) Head coach of the Brazilian national soccer team Mano Menezes has said he wants Santos’ 20-year-old striker, Neymar to play in Europe.
According to Menezes, playing in Europe will give Neymar the experience of playing at the highest level. The coach Sunday also added that in order to be fully respected, he had to prove himself in Europe while playing with the world’ s best, Xinhua reported.
Critically, Menezes advised Neymar to distance himself from the media in order to focus entirely on football. He stated that when Lionel Messi scored a record five goals in a Champions League match last week, the following day he was at practice as if nothing had happened. In contrast, when Neymar scored a hat-trick, he filled his schedule with television appearances, talk shows and public appearances.
Neymar will participate in the 2012 London Olympic Games in search of bringing home Brazil’s first gold medal in the sport.
