Arlington, Nov 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The highly anticipated fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito held some big surprises for the fans as the Mexican and the Filipino produced one of the hardest fought matches in recent times. Manny Pacquiao dominated the fight from the very beginning and the Mexican appeared much slower in comparison to his opponent. In spite of his speed issues, Antonio Margarito landed some serious blows on Manny Pacquiao that kept the fight in the balance till the 12th round.

In the first round itself, Manny Pacquiao exhibited his speed advantage and started to pepper Antonio Margarito with his punches. His ’smart boxing’ was a contrast to the slow and heavy style of the Mexican. In the second round, Antonio Margarito appeared slightly more in command of the situation and connected a right hook. The round also saw the two fighters head butting and the referee also checked for cuts after that. One left hook from Manny Pacquiao that seemed to shake Antonio Margarito slightly received huge cheers from the crowd and it became evident which way the crowd was tilted.

In the next few rounds, the fighters looked at par. Manny Pacquiao continued his constant assault on the Mexican through a series of 1-2-3s and Antonio Margarito landed one heavy blow once in a while. In the last 5 rounds, however, the fight turned rather ugly when a wound above the Mexican’s eye started to bleed and he appeared to be in serious pain. The decision for the judges looked rather easy towards the end as the Mexican held on by a thread and was completely bloody. The final scorecard read 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109.
