London, May 10 (ANI): Coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that Manchester City’s Champions League flop could ruin the club’s bid to sign Liverpool striker Fernando Torres this summer.City is reported to have come up with a bid of 45 million pounds for the Spanish marksman, The Sun reports, but Mancini believes the offer of a Europa League football next season may not be enough to attract Torres and other big-name stars to join his club.
“Can we attract the top, top players, like Torres? I don’t know, but I don’t think so. If we finished in the top four, it would be better and easier to attract them,” Mancini said.”But there are a lot of players in Europe who will want to play for Manchester City next year. We won’t be playing in the Champions League but we must try to win the other competitions and finish in the top four in the Premier League,” he added. (ANI)
