London, Dec 18(ANI): Former Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink’s agent has said that officials from Manchester City and Juventus have approached him for joining the Premier League clubs.

Cees van Nieuwen-huizen also said that he had held a discussion with City CEO Garry Cook concerning Hiddink’s future.

“Yes, I did speak to Cook. But Guus is happy with Russia. Definitely,” The Telegraph quoted Nieuwen-huizen, as saying.

“I had a call because I have been working with Garry for 12 years since we worked together at Nike. But I have received calls from all over the world about Guus. There has also been an approach from Juventus,” he added.

City officials are reportedly eager to replace manager Mark Hughes, who has been under scrutiny following the club’s disastrous season so far, where they are languishing at eighth position in the Premier League.

Nieuwen-huizen further said that Hiddink is content on staying in Russia, where he will be carrying out the National Team’s head coaching role until 2010.

“Cook asked me if it would be worthwhile having a meeting to discuss the future and what might happen next summer. But I told him that Guus was contracted to Russia,” Nieuwen-huizen said.

“I said I didn’t think it was worth having a meeting. Guus is very relaxed. He starts his holiday tomorrow and in January there are elections for a new president for the Russian Federation. He is contracted until next summer, but there is an offer for him to stay for two more years, and I think he will definitely stay,” he added.

However, despite Nieuwen-huizen’s comments, it is reported that Hiddink may consider other options in February. (ANI)
