Manchester City Groundsman Ordered to Close Facebook Site

Feb 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After being employed as a groundsman by Manchester City for fifteen years, Ged Coyne posted expletives and derogatory comments on his Facebook site about Manchester United just before the derby which was held on Saturday, located at Old Trafford.

His foul statements were aimed at the manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, and also the former defender of United, Gary Neville. During the rant, Coyne also called Manchester United, “scum.”

A club official was said to have contacted Coyne, and “reminded him of his responsibilities as an employee” on Thursday. He reportedly closed his Facebook site after that call. A spokesman for Manchester City stated, “The member of staff in question regrets posting the material and removed it immediately.”
