London, Oct.18 (ANI): Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that his concentration is presently limited to football and winning as many trophies as he can.

“First and foremost I’m a footballer and winning trophies is the be all and end all for me,” The News of The World quoted Ferdinand, as saying.

If I stop and think about football 24-7, which I could easily do, then I would go mad with worry. I’d be thinking about incidents, matches or opponents and that would drive me nuts,” he added.

There is plenty on Ferdinand’s mind after an indifferent start to the season, still coming to terms with a tricky period in his career.It’s been traumatic few months with high-profile mistakes in Amsterdam and Manchester, culminating in a full and frank discussion with Capello after his performance in the Ukraine.

If he partly rebuilt his international reputation against Belarus on Wednesday night, it still rankles that his professionalism was called into question.

“Football is my passion, playing for Manchester United and playing for England,” Ferdinand said. (ANI)
