Man U striker Owen’s injury curse strikes again
February 17th, 2011 - 6:05 pm ICT by ANILondon, Feb 17 (ANI): Manchester United striker Michael Owen is likely to be sidelined due to injury after damaging his groin in training.
Owen’s injury curse struck again at the club’s Carrington training base on Monday afternoon, according to The Sun.
Owen was taking part in a shooting session when he pulled up and immediately walked off the pitch, telling the coaching staff his “groin had gone.”
He was sent for scans on Wednesday and United expects to discover today how long the 31-year-old will be out of action.
Owen has made only six league appearances this season, scoring one goal, but was on target last month in the 2-1 FA Cup victory at Southampton.
He was out for three months after a hamstring problem picked up in October. (ANI)
