Man U stars could get 9 m pounds if they complete QuintupleMarch 13th, 2009 - 6:30 pm ICT by ANI
London, Mar.13 (ANI): Manchester United stars could get nine million pounds if they manage to complete the Quintuple.
That is the total bonus pot on offer to the likes of Ryan Giggs if the club wins all five competitions this season. Some stars could pocket up to 400,000 pounds each. The bonus schedule was agreed before this season started and includes separate payments for each trophy won. But there is also an extra wedge of between 10 and 15 per cent of the total earned based on the number of trophies they bring home.
United players have already earned around 85,000 pounds extra for winning the Carling Cup and Club World Cup. Victory in the Premier League and Champions League will see that figure rise by up to 200,000 pounds. And if they complete a remarkable grand slam by winning the FA Cup on May 30, another 65,000 pounds will be paid out.
On top of the basic incentives, United are also in line to pay out a Quintuple bonus based on each players appearance tally in each competition.
If Alex Fergusons side beat Liverpool at Old Trafford tomorrow, they will virtually wrap up the league title and be another huge step towards the largest reward for success in English football history. (ANI)
