London, Feb 10 (ANI): Manchester United winger Nani has been tipped to follow the Cristiano Ronaldo’s track to glory and become a potential world-beater at Old Trafford.
Manchester United captain Gary Neville said Nani will evolve in the same way two-and-half years after joining the club in a 17 million pounds switch from Porto.
Neville said: “Nani’s performances against Hull City, Manchester City and Arsenal have been absolutely fantastic. He has incredible ability, and when he performs like he did against Arsenal he is unstoppable. Players like Nani, who have such high skill levels, rely on confidence.”
“We hope the level of performance, determination and skill he has shown in the last few games can be maintained until the end of the season because he’s a match winner for us. I think Nani can be anything he wants to be,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.
“People expect so much from young players, but it sometimes takes time. It took time for Cristiano Ronaldo to settle in at United as well,” Neville added.
Nani, 23, has been a revelation since the turn of the year with his wing displays after fans started to grow frustrated with his poor performances when he appeared.
United full-back Patrice Evra said: “This is why I think the fans were sometimes a little frustrated. They knew how good he was but he needed time to show his pace, his power. Now he’s played three or four games in a row and he has delivered - but I’m not surprised because I know the quality he has got.”
Nani’s transformation this season has been all the more remarkable given that last November he looked to have talked his way out the club. (ANI)
