London, Mar 15 (ANI): Manchester United is facing a battle to keep star winger Nani, as the Portuguese striker wants to discuss a new contract and wage rise on the back of his good season.

The United has already rejected wage rise and Nani has already told close friends he is considering a new challenge.

He is just a year into a new four-year contract signed last March, according to The Sun.

That raised his wages to around 65,000 pounds at a time when he was nowhere near as influential as he is now.

The player’s representatives now believe he should be among the top-paid players at the club.

They would not expect him to get the 250,000 pounds a week Wayne Rooney earns, but nearer the 100,000 pounds the likes of Dimitar Berbatov get.

The club has told Nani’s representative that there is no way they will be renegotiating with three years left on his current deal. (ANI)
