Man U angry about referees’ seeking action against Fergie

London, Oct 8(ANI): Manchester United has expressed anger at Premier League’s referees for trying to make FA take strict action against club manager Sir Alex Ferguson for his comment on referee Alan Wiley.
After Man U’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland Fergie had claimed that Wiley was not fit enough to handle the game, and said: “It took him 30 seconds every time he booked a player. I think that was because he needed a rest.”
Following the comments, the referees have defended Wiley, and have urged the FA to ban Ferguson from any contact with his team on a match day.
“The manner in which this is being put across is that they are exerting undue pressure on the FA when the disciplinary process has begun. Some of the statistics being used are confidential,” The Sun quoted a source, as saying.”United have been assured these statistics were not provided to the media by the companies which compile them. There is serious concern at how the refereeing fraternity is meddling with the disciplinary process,” the source added.
Meanwhile, the FA has written to Ferguson asking him to explain his comments. (ANI)
