London, Apr.15 (ANI): Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has reportedly impressed England coach Fabio Capello enough to earn a surprise call up into the World Cup squad.
According to The Sun, the 22-year-old is in Capello’s sights, and he may be tried in one of the country’s two remaining friendlies against Mexico at Wembley on May 24 and Japan in Austria on May 30 before the England boss finalizes his squad of 23 for South Africa.
Capello said: “Adam Johnson has done well with Manchester City. Now, it’s important he gets some international experience.”
Capello also confirmed that injured Chelsea defender Ashley Cole would be on the plane provided he plays for the Blues before the end of the campaign. (ANI)
