Man City has made ex-Man U striker Tevez great, says coach Mancini

London, Apr.15 (ANI): Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini feels the club has converted Argentine striker Carlos Tevez into one of global football’s three best forwards after Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson chose to ignore his talent, forcing his exit.
The 28-goal Eastlands hero is now being talked about in the same glowing terms as Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
According to Mancini, Tevez, 26, is playing the best football of his career as he heads into a showdown with Manchester United on Saturday.
“Carlos is already an important player for us, but he could improve over the next year. He has already improved this year because he has never scored 28 goals before. I’m happy about that,” The Sun quoted Mancini, as saying.
“When you pick the top players, you pick Rooney, Messi and Tevez,” he added.
“Messi is the best at the moment. But Carlos and Rooney are very, very close,” Mancini said.
Mancini also insisted that he would not be afraid if Rooney was named in United’s starting line-up for Saturday’s encounter.
“He will be a danger, of course, but United have many fine players in their team. But we have beaten them once at home already and can do it again,” he said. (ANI)
