Malhotra congratulates archery contingent for World Cup performance

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) Archery Association of India president Vijay Kumar Malhotra Saturday congratulated the archery contingent which won one team gold, one team silver and one individual bronze medal in the 4th World Cup Archery Championship at Shanghai.

“The outstanding victory of the Indian Women Recurve team comprising of Deepika Kumari, Bombayala Devi and Chekrovolu Swuro team has made the nation proud. It is reflective of their steely determination and hard work that has been crowned with the World Cup. It becomes more important when the same composition has been qualified for 2012-Olympics-London,” Malhotra said

“It was a great team effort with each member contributing to the win, particularly the efforts and contribution of Deepika Kumari is laudable who herself won Individual Bronze.”

Malhotra also praised the historic silver medal finish by the men’s compound team of Chittimbomma Jignas, Chinna Raju Srither and Khuraijam Ratan Singh.
