London, Nov 10 (ANI): Speaking about his battle with Malaria, Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, has vowed to lead the Premier League leaders’ attack against Fulham.
He said: “I’ve been feeling ill for four weeks. We thought originally it was just a virus but found out through tests on Monday that it is malaria.”
“I don’t know when I caught it but am very glad I’m over the worst of it. I’m hoping to be back to full fitness in the next couple of weeks,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.
The Ivory Coast captain, who was in Africa for a friendly in September, has been complaining of a fever and headaches for a month.
He was physically sick before the Arsenal game on October 3.
Drogba is now on an intensive 48-hour course of treatment and the malaria is a type that will eventually clear.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said: “He had some tests before this and the virus was not so clear. He was unselfish to play when not at 100 per cent.” (ANI)
