Dec 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Texas longhorns might just receive another major blow. After their head coach Will Muschamp abandoned them and headed for the Florida Gators, if recent reports are to be believed then their assistant head coach might also leave them as well. Although nothing has been confirmed as of now, but chances are heavy that the latest buzz in the Florida Gators camp might just turn out to be true. A source close to the Florida football camp revealed that they are going to have Major Applewhite as their new offensive co-ordinator.
Recently the news got confirmed that Will Muschamp will be the new Florida head coach. Now supposedly Major Applewhite is also about to walk on the footsteps of the former Texas Longhorns head coach. Major Applewhite himself had a brilliant career with the Texas Longhorns. He was previously a Texas longhorns quarterback from 1998-2001, during which he had set a number of record winning streaks for his team. Later on he joined the Longhorns as an assistant coach. Later, he shifted his base to the Syracuse Orangemen where he donned the role of a quarterback coach. He was with the Syracuse Orangemen during one of their toughest phase, when they had created the worst record of school football history.
Texas Longhorns saw his comeback once again in the team in the year 2008. At this time he went to become their assistant head coach and running backs coach. If the latest buzz turns out to be true, Texas Longhorns will receive one another severe setback following the departure of Will Muschamp. Major Applewhite himself has not spoken anything about the issue and it is expected that the speculations will be solved soon.
