Madison Marathon To Witness 8,300 Runners

2102743102customMadison, May 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Madison shall witness it’s annual Marathon race being held on May 30. Falling on a Sunday all marathon races ranging from full races, half races, quarter and the kids marathon shall kick off at the Capitol square. The racers begin racing at 7.00 AM. This year Madison Marathon is set to witness a total number of 8,300 walkers and runners who will take part in the event. Although the online registrations for the event have closed on Thursday, any enthusiastic runner would be able to register his name at the Madison Marathon Expo of the Alliant Energy Center.

Owing to the event, the traffic situation will go through some alterations of routes. West Washington, Broom along with North Shore Dr will have the racers running across the track. The traffic has been redirected all the way round the Olin avenue.The situation will stay unaltered up till 1 pm. There shall also be delays at the Park and West Washington intersection point. The Park and Regent intersection point shall also witness heavy traffic delays up till 7:45 am.

The Madison Annual Marathon shall encompass a total area of 26.2 miles running all throughout the city of Madison in Wisconsin. The runners in due course of the race shall pass the state capitol and head their way straight to the governor’s mansion. The track will take the runners in a round-turn by Monona Bay and Lake Mendota. Among all other categories of the race the full marathon is the first to start at 7.00 AM on Pinckney St. Following that, the half marathon starts at 7.20 AM with the quarter marathon following next at 7.40 AM.
