Los Angeles, Oct 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) UFC 104-Machida vs. Shogun was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on October 24, 2009 in Los Angeles, California, at the Staples Center.

The event could be watched live on October 24th at the website, http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=eventdetail.fightCard&eid=2324 on a pay per view basis for the watching enthusiasts fans of the event.

The results were very controversial and greeted by loud jeers by the public, according to USA Today.

The journalists from USA Today had scored the fight 48-47 in favor of Rua.

However a huge controversy arose when Lyota Machida was declared as the winner over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.”My corner told me that I was winning all the rounds,” Rua said. “I feel like I won this fight. But a fight is a fight. What can I do?”

Dana White admitted that he believed Shogun Rua had outscored Machida in the first 1st, 4th, and 5th round, thus eventually winning the fight, but the judges declared the opposite result. Then a Fight metric analysis of the fight was done, which indicated that Rua was more aggressive, landed more blows to the head and legs than Machida, and had overall controlled the pace of the fight. Thus the result making ‘Machida’ as the winner was not right and fair at all.

So at the post fight conference, Dana White confirmed that he had scheduled an “immediate rematch” to be held later at an unannounced date.
