luke-mccownTampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL have some QB surplus at the moment and they will not hesitate to move Luke Mc Cown to sort that problem, marking him as “a possibility” of the resolution.

Since Luke did not contribute with the points on Thursday’s performance he must face the chances of Raheem Morris opting on Byron Leftwich as the QB starter. Byron was hoping to be “the guy”. In that regard Luke said, “Then I start preparing. I start helping Byron be the best starter he can be. I prepare everyday to play if called upon. As I have said the last three years, if I’m not doing that, if I’m upset over that decision, if that’s the way it goes, that’s not fair to my teammates.” On that note we must appreciate the maturity and earnest responsibility Mc Cown shows on the issue of playing as a team.

Luke Mc Cown made a historic impression when he was instrumental in Tampa Bay’s 27-23 victory over New Orleans Saints in the 13th week of the 2007 NFL season throwing 313 yards and 2 TDs. As for Leftwich giving him competition in the present situation, we cannot overlook the modest comments made by Leftwich who said he would get back all the misses, acknowledging that he had been selfish in outplaying Mc Cown in their game against Dolphins, when he completed 9 of 17 passes in 100 yards. Mc Cown achieved 5 of 11 for 38 yards. Mike Nugent scored two goals for Tampa Bay.
