dog2July 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Outfielder Scott Podsednik of the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers that in turn traded Class A pitcher Elisaul Pimentel and Triple-A catcher Lucas May to the former team. The trade will undoubtedly help the Los Angeles Dodgers to strengthen its outfield area and improve its chances to make it to the National League West. The trade was announced Wednesday night just before the Los Angeles Dodgers met the division leading San Diego Padres at San Diego. The Los Angeles Dodgers are now looking forward to Scott Podsednik’s joining the team on Thursday afternoon’s game against the San Deigo Padres.

Scott Podsednik will be seen playing a major role in the team as both Los Angeles Dodgers’ outfielders, Manny Ramirez and Reed Johnson, have joined the band of disabled players due to injuries. The general manager of Los Angeles Dodgers, Ned Colletti said to media sources after the announcement of the trade that the inclusion of Scott Podsednik will safeguard the team against “when they [outfielders] return and how they return”. He added that it is hard to tell at present when its two outfielders will be returning to the field and in what condition. He also maintained that it cannot be assured that Manny Ramirez and Reed Johnson will not have any more issues in the rest of the year.

Scott Podsednik according to Ned Colletti will be seen playing both at left and center field position. The player no doubt has an impressive career record with an average of 0.300. He is also famously known for his speed and driving runs.
