London Olympics uniforms unveiled
November 23rd, 2011 - 6:51 am ICT by IANSLondon, Nov 23 (IANS) The 2012 London Olympics organising committee has unveiled the designs of uniforms that will be worn by around 70,000 volunteers, 6,000 committee staff and 4,500 technical officials during the games.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) unveiled the designs Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
All volunteer uniforms are said to be made of recycleable material, including the bags and water bottles. The LOCOG said all uniforms have been produced in eco-friendly, responsible ways.
“What we’ve come up with is a uniform which celebrates the best of Britain’s heritage in a modern and sustainable way,” said Paul Deighton, chief executive officer of LOCOG.
