Ndamukong SuhDec. 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) This month seems to be lucky one for Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska. Only a few days back, he had picked up the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, and was nominated for the Heisman award. He is also the finalist for three other awards that will be presented on Thursday: the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, the Bednarik Award, the Lott Trophy and the Outland Trophy. In addition to all these felicitations, he has been named the number 1 prospect for the NFL draft for 2010. On Wednesday night, he was declared the winner of the Rotary Lombardi award.

The ceremony was held in Houston, attended by John Granato, who stepped into the shoes of the master of the ceremony. While presenting the award, he joked, saying that he felt rather apprehensive of saying the name of the winner out loud, since he was not sure that he would be able to pronounce it right. Ndamukong Suh took the joke in his stride, saying that it is indeed, a difficult name to pronounce, but that it rolls off the tongue easily once you get the hang of it.

Ndamukong Suh is the fifth player in the Nebraska team to have won the prestigious Rotary Lombardi Trophy. After he came on the stage to receive the award for the best lineman of the nation, the senior tackle, defensive, paused for a minute before delivering the thank you speech to apologize to Jerry Hughes of TCU, also a finalist for the Lombardi Trophy, for not defeating Texas in the match of the Big 12 Championship.
