Local Boy Jesse Biddle Gets Picked By The Philadelphia Phillies

joe1 The Philadelphia Phillies have chosen local player Jesse Biddle as the pick in the MLB draft 2010. The 27th pick is a 6′5″ weighing 220 pounds with a fastball in the upper 80s and even 92mph when in good form.

The hometown kid said that since the announcement he has become an overnight star. He received texts and phone calls from everyone he played against and with. The youngster was ecstatic after being selected by his home team.

Though not an unexpected pick, the authorities of Philadelphia Phillies have shown great confidence in the local. The profile of Jesse Biddle said that he had the potential to become a substantial major league pitcher once he learnt to utilize his height and weight. This season Jesse Biddle posted a 9-2 record with the University of Oregon.

The player was convinced that he will be picked in spite of a lot of people telling him that it wont happen. The Oregon coaches though told him that he was ready for the Major league and that they they weren’t expecting him to attend Pac-10 school.

He reportedly has an effective curve ball and has added a slider to his repertoire of pitches.

The Philadelphia Phillies 27th draft pick said that he hasn’t planned out any thing after the selection. He said that he realized that a whole new life is now ahead of him.

It is something that he had been looking forward to for a very long time and that its a step towards the bigger things in life. He also added that he will not be getting any sleep at night.
