Lleyton, Bec Hewitt welcome second babyDecember 16th, 2008 - 6:21 pm ICT by ANI
Melbourne, Dec 16 (ANI): Tennis ace Lleyton Hewitt and his wife have welcomed their second child, Cruz.
Cruz, who was born in Sydney’’s Royal North Shore hospital, is a brother to Mia, 3, reports News.com.au.
Lleyton and his wife Bec announced the birth of their son via a short message posted on their website.
It read: “Lleyton and Bec welcomed Mia’’s new baby brother, Cruz, on December 11. All are doing well and are very excited about the new addition to the family.
Lleyton’’s grandfather, Max Hewitt, said he was “overjoyed” about the arrival of his great-grandson.
“It’’s great, especially a boy, everyone wanted a boy. A girl would have been good, but a boy’’s great,” Max said.
The choice of Cruz as the child’’s name came as a surprise to the family.
The Hewitts join celebrity couple David and Victoria Beckham in having a son named Cruz.
The couple is believed to have left hospital with their family and returned to their rural spread in Kenthurst on Sydney’’s outskirts where they have bunkered down.
Cruz is going to make his public debut in OK! Magazine after the couple signed a lucrative deal with the publication several months ago. (ANI)
