Lisa Leslie retires

Phoenix, Oct 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Women’s basketball star Lisa Leslie retired from the WNBA team Los Angeles Sparks today. According to reports, she is leaving the sport with no regrets. In a statement to the press she said “I feel great because I know that every time I stepped out on that court I played as hard as I could, I’ve left everything out there and I did my best.”

She is a very deserving and a hardworking player. She also won the Olympic gold medal winner and WNBA MVP star,. In each and every game, she gives her very best. She won the Olympic gold medal 4 times, which is no mean feat.

With an average 17.3 points a game, she tallied up a score of 6,263 points at the end of her career. She’s been in the league since 1997, and has played competitive basketball for twelve years.

Mercury’s Diana Taurasi, who drained 22 points against the Sparks, said that Leslie still had more seasons left in her.

“The way she played this series, [she] probably got another three to four good years left under her belt,” said the guard and forward.

Leslie averaged 17.3 points a game and tallied 6,263 points and 3,307 rebounds since she entered the league in 1997.

It will not be the last time fans will hear about Leslie. The game is too much a part of her.

“Today is my last day of playing professional basketball, but I will stay close to the game because I feel I need to be a part of it.”
