July 12th, 2010 - 5:33 pm ICT by ANILondon, July 12 (ANI): Former Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has described his and Jenson Button performance in Sunday’s British Grand Prix as a great result.
The McLaren pair finished second and fourth respectively in front of 115,000 fans.
The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying: “It was a great result - we did the best job we could with the package we had and Jenson did a really great job to get way back up there and score points for the team.”
He added: “I think we put on a good show and it was a reflection of all the hard work the team put in.”
Red Bull’s Mark Webber held off Hamilton to win his first British GP.
World champ Button said: “I’m sorry for the British fans we couldn’t come away with a win but we made it a fun race for them.
“It was a fantastic result. The first lap was great as I got past six cars and that was a real rush.” (ANI)
