lesNov 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has been named the interim coach of the Minnesota Vikings after the team fired its head coach Brad Childress on Monday. The news that Brad Childress would no longer be associated with the Minnesota Vikings was announced by team owner Zygi Wilf on Monday morning after he meet with the former coach the same day along with his brother, team president Mark Wilf.

While making the announcement, Zygi Wilf went on to say that it was extremely difficult for him to articulate any one reason as to why the change in the team was of imperative need right now. Meanwhile, after Leslie Frazier was declared as the new interim coach of the Minnesota Vikings, he seemed quite confident about taking up the coaching responsibilities of the team while addressing reporters during a press conference that was held later on Monday. In the news conference, the new Vikings coach confirmed that Brett Favre would continue to remain the quarterback of the team when it clashes against the Washington Redskins on Sunday while adding that he has ‘no hesitation’ in this matter.

The decision to terminate Brad Childress comes on the heels of a humiliating defeat that the team suffered on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers which plummeted the Vikings’ record to 3-7. In the meanwhile, a statement that was released by the Brad Childress read that he is indeed proud of the accomplishments of the Vikings while adding that the football team is much stronger now than when he leading Vikings as the head coach.
