Sep 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Philadelphia Eagles suffered a major loss on Sunday when its fullback Leonard Weaver suffered an ACL in his left knee. The player suffered the injury during Sunday’s play against the Green Bay Packers when the he was hit by a defender. Although the exact extent of the injury is still not known, reports claim that Leonard Weaver might have suffered multiple ligament tears that might keep the player out of the field for rest of the season.
The gruesome injury suffered by Leonard Weaver, whose replay on screen left the fans horror struck, happened during second quarter of the game. The player went down for his first carry of the season with around 12 minutes remaining in the second quarter. However, he got injured in the attempt when hit by linebacker Nick Barnett of the Green Bay Packers. The player twisted his leg backward in an awkward way that resulted to the injury. While initial reports claimed that Leonard Weaver had only suffered some kind of sprains, it was latter mentioned that the injury was serious enough to keep the player out of the field for the rest of the season.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid said to media sources after the injury of Leonard Weaver that the latter is a “phenomenal player, and a phenomenal guy”. The coach added that he understood seeing the hit from the sideline that it was an ugly injury and walked straight out on the field even before the play was over. The injury of Leonard Weaver will now entail more work for Mike Bell and LeSean McCoy, although there are likely chances that the Philadelphia Eagles will bring a fullback like Jason Davis to the team.
