Nebraska, Mar 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) NCAA Basketball 2010 witnessed the winning of top seed Kansas Jayhawks as they took over Lehigh University Mountain Hawks. Although they were tussling against the number one, the Mountain Eagles did put up a strong fight. The match that was being held at Ford Center witnessed the first half of the game that was equally balanced between the two teams; even at one point of time it seemed like the Mountain Hawks could take over the Jayhawks at any moment. However, the Jayhawks bounced back hard in the second half of the game which seldom gave Lehigh any chance to gain the control of the ball. Kansas coach Bill Self said after the match that he was pretty happy with the way his boys have performed and that he hopes they continue to shine in the very same manner. As a matter of fact, Kansas did get a bitter taste of losing in 2005 against Lehigh which made them move out of the NCAA tournament.

As it stands now, Kansas shall be battling it out against Northern Iowa in the second round. The 90-74 win that Kansas snatched over Lehigh today surely puts the team in an upperhand position in the match against Iowa. Iowa on the other hand who have along history of grand win in the tournament is sure to offer teeth to teeth struggle for Kansas which shall be a boon to the crowd.

From the Jayhawks’ side five players stopped with 10 score points. Marcus Morris of Kansas is gracing the list of highest game point scorers with game-high score points of 26 and 11 rebounds. Sherron Collins follows Marcus Morris with 18 rebound score points.
