Dec 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was probably the best day in the life of Lee Corso, as after several years of his dedicated service to the college football, he was finally honored for his contributions to the game in the night’s signature moment at the College Football Awards show. It took place on Thursday night at the Lake Buena Vista in Florida.
However, it was not the award but his heart melting speech that brought tears to many people’s eyes. His speech also gave an apparent impression that he may soon be retiring from the college football. He thanked the entire show’s crew for helping him in recovering from the stroke that he suffered from two years ago. As he thanked them, the audiences could see tears dripping down his eyes to be wiped off by Lee Corso. But one cannot deny, that it was this signature moment that actually accounted for the award ceremony evening. He has a long way to be America’s favorite sports analysts on TV today. He has been one of the deadliest quarterbacks for Florida about five decades ago. He led Florida State back in 1955, when he was a rusher, while in 1956 he became one of the greatest passers of all time in the world of American Football. He has even remained the coach for the two states, Louisville and Indiana.
Lee Corso was also humble enough to give short interviews to the press despite the heavy crowd and noise.
James Newton was also awarded at the College Football Awards show. He bagged two awards namely Maxwell Award (College Player of the Year) and Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.
