Laura says no to Murray’s mixed doubles plea for 2012 London Olympics!
January 7th, 2010 - 5:49 pm ICT by ANILONDON - Laura Robson has rejected Britain’s No.1 tennis player Andy Murray’s offer to play mixed doubles at the 2012 London Olympics.
Murray popped the question after the pair won their opening mixed doubles at the Hopman Cup in Perth this week, where they are preparing for the Aussie Open.
But after recording a second group win together on Wednesday in a 2-1 triumph over Germany at the mixed team event, Murray said his request had been turned down, The Sun reports.
“I asked her if she wanted to play the Olympics in 2012 and she said no. It will be the last time I ask her,” Murray joked
Murray, 22, beat Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4 6-1 while Robson, 15, lost 7-6 6-3 to world No 22 Sabine Lisicki.
The Brits then teamed up to win the deciding doubles 6-3 6-2. (ANI)
