larryWashington, Mar 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Larry Johnson, the running back of the Bengals, has been signed on a three-year contract by the Washington Redskins. No doubt the deal is an opportune one for Larry Johnson, despite the fact that it is not a very expensive one, at only about $3.5 million. However, if the player is able to meet up to certain standards set by the Washington Redskins on the basis of performance, he can make almost up to a whopping 12 million per year. The inclusion of the running back had been decided on the initiative of the new coach of the Washington Redskins, Mike Shanahan.

Larry Johnson will be making up the backfield of the team, along with the other running back the Cincinnati Bengals already incorporates, Clinton Portis. According to Peter Schaffer, the agent of Larry Johnson, he is visibly excited about being incorporated into the team of the Cincinnati Bengals. The agent further mentioned that the running back feels that the deal is somewhat of a dream come true for him, considering that he had always been a great fan of the team.

Peter Schaffer also commented that Larry Johnson looked forward to playing with the team all lot, and that he is busy anticipating about how the Washington Redskins would be using him. On the other hand, the deal is being considered to be bit of a tricky one by observers, at least as far as the Washington Redskins are concerned. This is mainly because Larry Johnson has the repute of being one of the most problematic players in the team, with a whole lot of suspensions to his name, despite his comparatively brilliant record.
