Larry Drew Appointed As Atlanta Hawks Head Coach

Atlanta, June 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) If recent reports are to be believed then Larry Drew is the new head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. The internet has been abuzz with reports that are claiming that the search of the officials of the Atlanta Hawks has finally come to an end and the team has hired Larry Drew as the next basketball head coach.
After looking for the appropriate candidate to assume the coaching duties for almost a month now, the team officials have reported to have taken the decision to appoint Larry Drew as the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks.
According to reports that have surfaced, the team officials and the coach are looking into the details of the deal while any official announcement about his appointment is not likely to come out in the open until late Saturday.
Apart from Larry Drew, the other candidates who were considered for the head coaching position include Dwayne Casey, Mark Jackson and Avery Johnson but finally it was reported that the 52 year old head coach emerged as ultimate winner. While reacting to the new head coach, Hawks player Jamal Crawford added that due to the his experience as well knowledge about the game, Larry Drew would be able to handle many tricky situations.
Meanwhile, Larry Drew is also known to have held the position of the lead assistant under Mike Woodson, who was fired after six seasons. Moreover, the new Atlanta Hawks head coach who has been a NBA assistant for the last 14 seasons, is also known for his association with the Lakers, Nets, Wizards and Pistons prior to his enrolling as a staff under Mike Woodson.
