Lance Armstrong Crashes In Tour De California, Gets Eight Stitches Below Left Eye

Tulare County, May 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The fifth round of “Tour De California” witnessed Lance Armstrong suffer a crash which left him with a severe stitches right below his left eye and a couple of bruises on his elbows. Reportedly, the seven time winner of “Tour De France” crashed on the ground along with a few other cyclists while they raced their way towards the fifth round. Besides Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer also crashed his cycle in a similar manner. After the cyclists pulled themselves up, both Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer started racing at their own speed until Lance Armstrong called off his name at the 13th mile.
Lance Armstrong told the media in an email statement that he tried to carry on the race after the severe crash but his left eye was swollen already which made it difficult for him to see. Moreover, his bruises in the elbow gave him severe pain and he couldn’t hold on to the cycle bars for long. The cyclist says that he never imagined that the crash is going to be so severe but he hopes to get back on his bike in a few weeks.
Earlier in the day Lance Armstrong was accused for taking performance enhancing drugs by his ex-teammate Floyd Landis. Medical professionals are reported to be treating upon the champion cyclist who is looking forward to “Tour De France” which kicks off on July 3. As a matter of fact, Lance Armstrong had taken part in “Tour De California” as a warm up session for Tour De France. Lance Armstrong received eight stitches below his left eye.
