Mike Tyson has married his partner Lakiha Spicer at a Vegas ceremony a mere two weeks after the tragic death of his four year old daughter Exodus Tyson. According to the owner of the La Bella Wedding Chapel at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel-casino, Tyson and his bride exchanged vows in a simple and private ceremony at about 10 p.m. The owner Shawn Abasher described the ceremony as “very sincere”. The couple obtained their marriage license only thirty minutes before the wedding and arrived at the chapel in the limousine provided for them.

There is speculation that the preceding tragedy in May might have prompted their decision to marry. Exodus Tyson reportedly got caught up or slipped into the loop of a cord hanging down from the treadmill console of her home in Phoenix, and consequently suffocated. Harlan Werner, agent to Tyson, said that Spicer was not the mother of Exodus Tyson.

Spicer was cited as the possible reason for Tyson’s second divorce. Tyson had been also asked to appeared as a character witness for Spicer at her trial for fraud in 2005.

This is the third marriage of the forty-two year old ex-heavyweight champion. Before he was married Robin Givens in 1988 and later to Monica Turner in 1997.

Tyson’s colorful past notably includes biting off an opponent’s ear, taking a chink off another opponent’s leg, being convicted of raping an 18-year-old Miss Black America contestant and spending three years in prison, being convicted again for “lethal road rage”, running through nearly three hundred million dollars and finally filing for bankruptcy. Hopefully his future will be a lot less violent.
