Oct 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) LaceDarius Dunn has been suspended from his team after he was alleged for assaulting his girlfriend and breaking her jaws. He represents Baylor Bears men’s basketball team that represents Baylor University. The news broke out, when the player was arrested yesterday for the same reason. Head coach of Baylor Basket Ball Team Scott Drew, announced that the news is true.
College basketball season is about to open in less than a month, and LaceDarius Dunn is the highest scorer of the time. He has scored an average of 19.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 36 games last season. In the Bears’ four tourney games, he scored 18 20-point games and averaged 21.0 points. Every one in their team had huge expectations from this player, as the most important inter college Basket ball match in just about to begin. This incident has however made every team member very disappointed. The player reportedly had a fight with his girlfriend Lacharlesia Edwards, 21, assaulted her and broke her jaw during an argument on Sept. 27. When his coach Scott Drew, came to know about it, he suspended him for an indefinite period of time. After this incident Lacedarius Dunn reported to Waco police Tuesday and was booked at McLennan County Jail in charges of physical assault.
A 6-foot-4 senior from Monroe, he has been dating his girlfriend from junior high school and is also a father of their three year old son. His girlfriend, who underwent a minor surgery after the assault, said that she is not going to lodge any complaint against LaceDarius Dunn, but is definitely upset that he has been arrested and is suspended from the next game, for which he was so well prepared.
