Krishna Poonia wins silver in US meet
May 5th, 2012 - 7:31 pm ICT by IANSMaui Island (Hawaii), May 5 (IANS) Indian discus thrower Krishna Poonia produced her season’s best performance to win a silver medal at the Altius Track Crew Throwdown meet here.
Poonia threw 63.67 meters Friday to finish behind American Stephanie Trafton, who came up with an effort of 67.74 meters. Stephanie won a gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Gia Lewis-Smallwood came third with her best throw of 62.88 meters.
Poonia’s best in 2011 was 62.25 meters.
