K.P.S. Gill to chair IHF meeting
April 25th, 2010 - 12:34 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi,April 24 (IANS) The Indian Hockey Federation (IHF), which was superseded by the Indian Olympic Association IOA) two years ago, will hold its annual general meeting here Sunday. Former top cop K.P.S. Gill will chair the meeting.
Gill, who was ousted as IHF president and later joined Hockey India (HI) last year, said there is mismanagement in the ranks of HI which has necessitated the need to strengthen the IHF and revive the game in the country.
“I tried to help the cause of hockey and extended my support to them, but they tried to sideline me. I kept quiet in the interest of the game and the World Cup,” Gill said in a statement.
HI is an ad-hoc body and its general elections have twice been postponed.
