Kotla ODI abandoned after consulting both teams: Dhoni
December 29th, 2009 - 12:15 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 28 (IANS) Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni Monday said that match referee Alan Hurst decided to abandon the fifth one-day international against Sri Lanka at Ferozeshah Kotla after consultation with both the teams.
Dhoni said the track at Ferozeshah Kotla was indeed bad.
“If you look at my career, you will see this was the only abandoned match that I have been part of. It was certainly not a good wicket. So the match referee decided to abandon the match in consultation with the two teams. Now it is upto the ICC to decide on the issue,” Dhoni told reporters at the launch of his own website here Monday.
The ODI was abandoned after 23.3 overs as the pitch was deemed unfit and dangerous to bat.
