Kolkata to host Test against South Africa
January 3rd, 2010 - 5:24 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Mumbai, Jan 3 (IANS) India will host South Africa for a short tour of two Tests and three One-day International next month.
While the Indian cricket board is yet to decide on the dates, the Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee that met here Sunday decided that Kolkata and Nagpur will host the Tests and the ODIs will be played at Kanpur, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
Kolkata, which had trouble with its floodlights during an ODI against Sri Lanka last month, will host its first Test since 2007.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) swung into action to quickly include two Tests in this series following criticism that India would play fewer Tests this year despite their No.1 tag.
