KKR flags and T-shirts being sold in large numbers

Shah Rukh Khan Kolkata, April 30 (IANS) With the Kolkata Knight Riders putting up a good show in the ongoing Indian Premier League edition, flags and T-shirts of the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned franchise are being sold in large numbers in and around the stadium.

Apart from the original T-shirts being sold in several outlets around the stadium and in leading shopping malls, many youngsters are making a few quick bucks by selling the cheap items.

While the originals cost an exhorbitant amounts, the cheap ones are being sold at affordable prices.

“I was selling the flags till the last game for Rs.15. Now you have to shell out Rs.20. If they win one more match, the prices will jump to Rs.30,” said a youngster at the gate.

Similarly, KKR jerseys of ordinary make are being sold on the pavements and small stalls by unemployed youths for Rs.150. The most popular are the ones with Gauti (KKR captain Gautam Gambhir) monogrammed at the back.

“It seems the Kolkatans have finally got over the sadness of not seeing Dada (Sourav Ganguly) in the IPL,” said one fan.
