Kiwi cricket chief tells ICC to decide fast on 2015 WC team line up

Wellington, Apr. 25 (ANI): New Zealand Cricket boss Justin Vaughan has called on the International Cricket Council (ICC) to decide quickly on how many teams will participate in the 2015 World Cup.

Till now, the ICC has maintained that only ten teams will feature in the event to be held in Australia and New Zealand.

The 2011 World Cup had 15 teams.

The latest ICC decision was made in early April, but last week ICC president Sharad Pawar announced the number of teams to take part at the next World Cup would be reassessed at the annual conference in Hong Kong at the end of June.

Vaughan said this waxing and waning over the issue was frustrating.”From an event host perspective, it’s very unhelpful to have uncertainty in regards to what the format of the competition is going to look like,” Vaughan told the Sunday Star-Times.He added: “As the hosts of that competition, it is unhelpful to have renewed uncertainty over the format.” (ANI)
