Paris, May 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kim Clijsters have crashed out of the French Open after losing 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 to the 114th ranked Dutch player Arantxa Rus. The second seed told reporters after the game that she felt her confidence leave her during the game and that might be the reason why she crashed out.

Clijsters is returning to the court after suffering shoulder and ankle injury. This was only her second match after returning from the injury. She however refused to blame her loss on her injury.

Cljsters said that, “My ankle feels fine, so that has absolutely nothing to do with it. If I felt like I wasn’t ready as much as I would have liked to be, I wouldn’t have come here. If I wasn’t feeling like I was able to play tough matches, then I wouldn’t have made that decision to come here.”

Clijsters was in top form prior to her injury winning 15 Gram Slam matches consecutively. She sustained the injury during a dance at the wedding of her cousin in April. The injury forced her to pull out of the Indian Wells tournament which took place in March.

Clijsters returned from retirement to win the US Open in 2010 and the Australian Open early this year.
