New York, Oct. 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American country singer Keni Thomas created quite a buzz last night when he sang the national anthem at the Yankee stadium, which was filled to its capacity. The occasion was part of the pre-game celebration of the first World Series game that was attended by a host of other celebrities including first lady Michelle Obama. The game that saw the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies clash against each other was extremely star-studded and kept the audiences absolutely thrilled.

The event was unique in itself, as it was organized to pay tribute to the the American war veterans and witnessed the presence of a number of Hollywood celebrities that included actors Alec Baldwin, Matthew McConaughey and directors such as Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee and George Lucas as well as former mayor of New York City, Rudy Guilaini among others.

This was the singer’s second appearance at the stadium. Although Keni, who was wearing an official Yankees jacket, admitted to being nervous while singing the national anthem; he also added that he immensely enjoyed the experience of singing in a gala event of this magnitude- in front of such a huge audience. This was the fifth time that the artist was singing for the Yankees.

Army veteran Tony Odierno, who lost his arm in the Iraq war was also present in the event. The ceremony was all the more special for Keni as he had been part of the army for almost the entire decade of the 1990’s, until he resigned from active duty. After he left the army, Keni started a new phase in his life when he became a counselor and motivational speaker, addressing audiences all over the country.
