Kaye Cowher Will Be Missed By Pittsburgh Steelers Community, Says Arthur J. Rooney II

Pittsburgh, July 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 54-year-old Kaye Cowher, wife of former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, left for heavenly abode on Friday after suffering from skin cancer. She died at native North Carolina where the couple has been living since the end of Bill Cowher’s coaching career. The confirmation of the news of the death of Kaye Cowher came from her husband Bill Cowher who issued a public statement on Saturday mentioning the death of his wife.
The statement made it clear that the untimely death of Kaye Cowher, who had acted as a constant support in the life of Bill Cowher and their three children, had left the family shattered. It is not only the close family of Kaye Cowher that has been shattered by the death, but also the extended Pittsburgh Steelers family whose president Arthur J. Rooney II expressed the grief of the community on the sad demise of Kaye Cowher.
In the public statement issued by the President of Pittsburgh Steelers, with whom Bill Cowher and her family have been associated closely for around 15 seasons; Arthur J. Rooney II said that Kaye Cowher’s absence will be missed dearly by the organization. He said that Kaye Cowher had made many friends in the organization and community of Pittsburgh Steelers who will be missing her absence. He extended his condolence message to the family of Bill Cowher and family.
Bill Cowher and Kaye Cowher have been together since 1976 when they were classmates in North Carolina. On Saturday, Bill Cowher remembered his late wife as a constant support in his walk of life. Kaye Cowher is survived by Bill Cowher and their three daughters Lindsay, Lauren, and Megan. A private funeral of Kaye Cowher is scheduled for Monday.
