Karnataka top table in south zone junior cricket

Chennai, Jan 20 (IANS) Karnataka moved to the top of the table with 10 points as they notched their second win by defeating Kerala by 57 runs in the PR Ram Mohan Roy Trophy South Zone Under-25 one-day tournament, here Friday.

Behind Karnataka are Kerala, Goa and Andhra Pradesh with four points apiece while Hyderabad have three and Tamil Nadu one.

Goa 257 for 8 in 50 overs (Suraj Dongre 65, Among Desai 34, Darshan Misal 42 not out, Rajasekhar Harikant 26, V Maaruthi Raghav 2 for 31) beat Tamil Nadu 192 in 40 overs (V Maaruthi Raghav 37, Vijay Shankar 57, PK Dharma 26, Darshan Misal 3 for 28, Ninad Pawaskar 2 for 25, Srinivas Phadte 2 for 27). Points: Goa 5 (4) Tamil Nadu minus 1 (-1).

Andhra 258 in 49 overs (V Abraham 41, K Ragunatha Reddy 83, SKM Basha 25, M Ajaykumar 31, Syed Ali 4 for 27, Vivek Krishna 3 for 47) lost to Hyderabad 260 for 6 in 48.5 Overs (Sai Raju 36, VE Sandeep Rajan 91 not out, Pradeep Kumar 53). Points: Hyderabad 4 (3), Andhra 0 (4).
