Kapur 15th, Chowrasia 31st in BMW Golf
June 28th, 2009 - 5:16 pm ICT by IANSMunich, June 28 (IANS) A late bogey on the 17th hole saw Shiv Kapur squander an advantageous position and slip four places to 15th after three rounds at the BMW International Golf.
Kapur, who was overnight 11th, shot a two-under 70 and was at nine-under 207 Saturday.
Meanwhile, S.S.P. Chowrasia also turned in an identical 70 in the third round to be placed tied 31st.
Kapur had four birdies, three of them between ninth and 16th, before he dropped a shot on the par-3 17th, but closed with a par. Kapur’s birdies came on sixth, ninth, 10th and 16th.
Chowrasia started well with a bogey-free front nine, but then three bogeys on back nine gave him a big set-back. Chowrasia, winner of the Indian Masters in 2008, is at seven-under 209.
Chowrasia birdied the first and sixth holes for a two-under stretch. But on back nine, he had three more birdies and also three bogeys.
The field is being led by South African Retief Goosen, whose 67 saw him get to a superb 17-under 199 with rounds of 64, 68 and 67. He is two shots clear of veteran Bernhard Langer, who is at 15-under 201 after rounds of 68, 68 and 65.
